Quest for the Cup Results

It was another sell-out crowd in Summit, IL as PCW presented it's third Powerhorse tournament.

Tournament Round 1
-Fuzion took on Damien in the opening round. The two masked men appeared evenly matched with Fuzion going for a more aerial route with his offense and Damien playing the power game. Just as it looked like Fuzion had the upper hand, Damien took a spill and began clutching his leg. When Fuzion came to check, Damien grabbed the newcomer for a roll-up.
-"Hot Bod" Shawn Davis pinned Daniel Allure. Allure did his best to ground the high-flyer and it looked like he had him once he dodged Davis's flying elbow drop. However "Hot Bod" managed to prevail and pin Allure.
-In the night's most physical match, Rion Skills pinned "Party Animal" Wally Wilde. Wilde and Skillz were punching and chopping each other with all their strength, in a very stiff match. Skillz rolled up Wilde from a powerslam for the win.
-Uzi Akiva def. Rik Rockett. Rockett had the size and power advantage, but Akiva hit a low blow and got his legs on the ropes to defeat the larger man

-In a non-tournament singles match, Santana Starks def. Greg Swanski the Third. The newcomer was no match for the tag team veteran who nailed a moonsault for the pin.
-The "Original" Chicago Connection ("Big Jack" John Burke & Jarod Priest) via DQ over the Chicago Connection (Rick Knight & Whiplash). Prior to the match, Rick Knight promised a full refund to the crowd if they were pinned by their opponents. But Ref. Lou Tufano had to throw the match out, after Whiplash and Knight, continually interrupted the match without tagging in and out.

Round 2
-"Hot Bod" Shawn Davis over Damien, via flying elbow drop
-Uzi Akiva pins Rion Skillz, again using the ropes for leverage. Loud USA chants directed against Akiva, who hails from Tel Aviv, Isreal.

-In a wild six-man tag, Johhny Mac and the Grid Iron Grapplers def. Sacrifice and Ares and the Butcher. An out of control tag match that saw Sacrifice and his teamate apply three figure four leg locks early on. Butcher apparently dislocated a shoulder before ramming into the ring post to pop it back in. Butcher also brought Sam Hart out to neutralize the Grapplers' cheerleader, December. Ares didn't like Sam being with their team and argued with Butcher, allowing their opponents to triple-team Sacrifice. The end came when Butcher was vying with Joe Heisman for a backslide. While Lou Tufano tried to break up Sacrifice and Butcher's brawling with Steve Heisman, Johnny Mac kicked Butcher below the belt letting Joe get the pin. After the match, Butcher and Ares continued to argue as Ares gave Sam Hart a chokebomb.

Tournament Finals
The two high flyers met, with huge pro-Davis chants directed against Uzi Akiva. The two men went back and forth until Davis managed to hit a sit down power slam on Akiva for the pin, winning the tournament he failed to win last year. Davis will be presented with the tournament trophy at our next show on March 10th in Aurora, IL.
